Back to School: A Message from the Coached By Plez Training Facility

As the new school year begins, the staff at Coached By Plez Training Facility would like to remind our student-athletes that their success goes beyond the field, track, or court. We believe that “how you do anything is how you do everything,” and our mission extends far beyond just improving your performance in sports. We are committed to helping you become great people and valuable members of your community.

A Note to Parents:

We encourage all parents to take the time to review these helpful tips with your student-athletes. Your guidance and reinforcement are crucial in helping them understand the importance of balancing academics and athletics. By going over these tips together, you can help set the tone for a successful school year, both in and out the classroom. Emphasize the value of each point and how it contributes to their overall growth and development.

This school year, as you balance academics with athletics, here are some key things to remember to help you excel both in the classroom and in your specific sport:

1. Prioritize Time Management

Balancing schoolwork, practice, and personal time can be challenging. Create a daily schedule that allows you to manage your time effectively. Prioritize your tasks, whether it’s homework, training, or rest, to ensure you stay on top of your responsibilities.

2. Stay Organized

Keep track of assignments, projects, and important dates. Use a planner or digital calendar to organize your schoolwork and athletic commitments. Staying organized helps reduce stress and allows you to focus on your goals.

3. Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle

Nutrition, sleep, and hydration are crucial for both academic and athletic success. Make sure you’re fueling your body with the right foods, getting enough sleep, and staying hydrated throughout the day. A healthy body supports a healthy mind.

4. Stay Focused in the Classroom

Your performance in the classroom is just as important as your performance in your sport. Sit up front where you can minimize distractions and stay engaged with the material. Pay attention in class, participate actively, and complete your assignments on time. Remember, being a student-athlete means excelling both academically and athletically.

5. Embrace Accountability

Hold yourself accountable in all areas of your life. Whether it’s finishing a challenging workout, studying for a test, or helping out at home, take responsibility for your actions and strive to do your best in everything you do.

6. Be a Positive Influence

As a student-athlete, you are a role model to your peers. Set a good example by showing respect to your teachers, coaches, and teammates. Demonstrate good sportsmanship, support your classmates, and be someone others can look up to.

7. Stay Committed to Your Goals

Set both short-term and long-term goals for the school year. Whether it’s improving your grades, becoming a team captain, or mastering a new skill, stay committed to your goals and work hard to achieve them. Remember, consistent effort leads to success.

8. Focus on Teamwork

In sports and in life, teamwork is essential. Support your teammates, communicate effectively, and work together to achieve common goals. Your success is not only about individual achievements but also about how well you contribute to the success of your team.

9. Balance Your In-Season and Off-Season Commitments

During your sports season, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of competition. However, remember to balance your athletic commitments with your academic responsibilities. Use your off-season to focus on areas where you need improvement, both in sports and in school.

10. Reflect and Adjust

At the end of each week, take some time to reflect on what you’ve accomplished and where you can improve. Adjust your strategies if needed, and continue to push yourself to be the best version of yourself.

At Coached By Plez Training Facility, we’re not just training athletes—we’re helping to shape future leaders. We’re here to support you every step of the way, both in your athletic journey and in your personal growth. Let’s make this school year one of growth, achievement, and success.

Until next week!
